Our Golf Course in South Ockendon
This magnificent par 70 Essex golf course is among the most picturesque in the County, with its environmentally protected areas and a huge variety of plants and wild life.
A wealth of mixed specimen trees, both young and mature, add dimension and character to the course with streams and lakes leading down to the River Mardyke.
The golf course is gaining a fine reputation, with the contours of the valley ensuring that golfers’ skills are tested to the full, especially at the 17th, our signature hole the ‘Watery Grave’, which is possibly one of the most charming golf courses in Essex.
The golf course is open 7 days a week, all year round, from 7.15am in the Spring and Summer months and 7.45am through Autumn and Winter. Massive investment in our drainage and irrigation systems, allows us to stay open through drought and deluge, enabling our hardier members to play their best golf in the most inclement weathers.
Designed by our members, the layout of this testing course is excellent, with plenty of markers and directions to let you know where you are.
You are welcome to come up and practice on our real ball driving range or hone your putting skills on our practice putting green in front of the clubhouse.
Our greenkeepers are hard at work throughout the year with current machinery to ensure the course is kept in perfect condition.
